October 2014: South West Norfolk MP Elizabeth Truss, pictured centre, cut the ribbon to open the new Community Information Point at St Mary’s Church in Feltwell. The hub was aimed at helping residents find out more about local services and also to comment on planning applications; it was manned by volunteers and supported by West Norfolk Council.

October 2014: The Greenfingers Gardening Club, based at Pott Row, handed over a £600 cheque to the Norfolk Hospice Tapping House, the proceeds from that year’s agricultural show. In our picture, Charles Fosgate is joined by club committee members to present the cheque to Norfolk Hospice community fundraiser Lindsey Atkin.

October 2004: More than 400 people went to Litcham High School for a family fun activity day, celebrating National Family Learning Week. October 2004: Around 130 members of the Freebridge Marshland District Girl Guides created their own costumes for a special fashion show at Terrington St Clement’s High School, raising money for Guiding both globally and locally. Here are some of the fashions on show.

October 2005: Bill Cole (78) of Summerwood Estate, Great Massingham, with the latest tapestry he had produced, of the Royal Crest. He had spent countless hours over three years working on the tapestry and was hoping it would go to Lynn’s Queen Elizabeth Hospital or the East Anglian Air Ambulance.

October 2005: A variety show held at West Winch William Burt Centre which featured comedy, illusions and dance raised £400 to be shared between Heacham Scallywags mums and tots group and the Grand Order of Water Rats, the entertainment charity. Presenting their cheque to the Scallywags are some of the entertainers, Safire (illusionists Stuart and Jayne Loughland) and Rollo (Sean Rollason); the two adults kneeling at the front are Liz Heffer and Tracey Mellor, and the toddlers are Alfie Cator, Elizabeth England, Lily Bruce and Jack White.

October 2005: Business was blooming for the Flowers family of Terrington St Clement, opening new premises for their flourishing farm shop. Cutting the ribbon is West Norfolk Council member David Harwood, to the delight of Ann and Peter Flowers and their daughter Emma.

October 2005: A flower festival at Magdalen Methodist Chapel raised more than £400, money earmarked to cover the cost of replacing the water heating system at the building. Chapel members Barbara Foster, Connie Morley and Terry Foster – who made the model lighthouse – were ready to welcome visitors.

October 2005: An auction, fun days and bingo sessions held at Snettisham Caravan Park helped raise £5,415 for the children’s ward at Lynn’s Queen Elizabeth Hospital. Jen Meenaghan (front right), one of the organisers, presents the cheque to staff nurse Anne Lemon.
