First day at school for pupils at King’s Lynn’s Fairstead Primary in September 2014
In our weekly Memory Lane Schooldays feature we look back ten years…
It was a difficult day for the parents waving off their children for their first day of school at the gates of Lynn’s Fairstead Primary School in September 2014.
And here are some of those new pupils, who, once inside even managed a smile for the Lynn News photographer after they were welcomed by headteacher Hazel Spinks and reception teacher Chloe Hoare.
But as some parents perhaps had a tear in their eye as they said goodbye to their four-and-five-year-olds, others were being urged to take advantage of dozens of new and free childcare places.
Almost 50 new places had been created for two-year-olds in Lynn under a scheme backed by Norfolk County Council and the government.
