Pupils at Anthony Curton Primary School in Walpole St Peter tasked with designing dream house after visit from Martin Rayner of French Kier in 2002
In our weekly Memory Lane Schooldays feature we look back to 2002…
Pupils at Anthony Curton Primary School in Walpole St Peter were taught how to build houses or make cars or musical instruments during the school’s design technology week in September 2002.
Pictured here is Martin Rayner, of building company French Kier, who explained the processes of designing, planning and actually building a house to Year One children.
The pupils had first been on a walk around the village to look at different types of buildings, and Mr Rayner talked about the equipment and materials used – and the safety gear used by workers on the building sites.
Following the visit, the children were then tasked with designing and making their own dream house.
